Forever Reign_Video Competition

A huge international mega church from Australia called "Hillsong Church" released their newest worship album, "A Beautiful Exchange". From this, they started a video competition for one of their songs called forever reign. I entered the competition and made a video that I thought would fit the song. A couple months later, I found out that I received the most votes, and won the prize!! An iPad!  I'm pretty pooping excited... so I thought I'd share the video with everyone. =)

What is Art?...

I still stand by my first definition of art. I believe that it is any form of communication or self expression. The beauty of it is that any medium can be accepted. From painting, drawing, digital design, or video. Any form is considered art I believe, as long as it is communicating or expressing something.

Propaganda Poster

I do a lot of video work and animations. However, to complete such projects I must always RENDER. I truly despise rendering, a small clip may take an hour to render at times. If I were to count up all the hours i've spent waiting for a render, it would be overwhelming. So, I decided to create a poster that puts a stop to this. Send a message to destroy the rendering process forever! (which will probably never happen, but I can dream!)

Explosion of Crazy

For this piece I wanted to create something that is over the top, abstract. I started with the letter G and used blending options, different fonts, and colors to create something out of the ordinary. I feel like I might have used too many colors and lines that could give someone a headache. However, I feel it came out very unique and was fun to create.

This piece might be my favorite out of the 3. It started with the letter A and transformed edges and corners. I love how simple it is but also mentally stimulating. It really exercises the imagination by finding different ways to look at it.

This piece is probably the most bubbly one. I started with the letter K and saw some sort of dog in it. So I transformed it a little to give the shape of a dog's head and define its body. Then I thought of the number 9 to make it sound out "canine". I shaped the number to create floppy ears and a tongue sticking out. The piece was the silliest but fun to make.

Photo Montage

When I found out that the main purpose of this project is to express time, I suddenly thought of the sun. The sun is the most basic illustration of time, it is the basics in which we all react to during the day. So, I climbed to the top of A Mountain and stayed there until sunset. From the left, the sun is bright and shining throughout the city. As your eyes move towards the right, the sun starts to set and the city begins to grow darker. I wanted to give the entire image a vintage look because I felt it really gave a timely feeling to the project. The concept of this project was very intriguing and I never would have thought of creating such an image.

Extra Credit

This project was a great learning experience for me. It was my very first attempt at creating an illustration. The idea behind it was to create a book that exemplifies hope and purpose. I wanted the child to look up as if he is searching for something, an inspiration. Which is why I put the text on top of the child. Overall it was really fun, and it's an "ok" attempt at illustrating something.

Self Portrait

A self portrait is something that represents who you are in life. My self portrait has been split into two parts. The first represents life on the outside, the daily routine. It show parts of the ASU campus, things I like to do, and the software I use almost everyday. It represents life as a whole put together into one. The second half shows what is truly inside of me. Simply creativity. I wanted to represent life being stripped apart and have the inner creativity pushing out. What I love is being set free in this half of the piece. Together, I believe it shows a true representation of myself.

Art is freaking awesome.

Art is a form of communication and expression. One can express their feelings, emotions, and passion towards a work. As well as communicate ideas to leave an impact on the viewer or audience. The creative world is wide open and free to accept any form of art or ideas to communicate to others. The freedom is what makes art so incredible.

Nick Campbell is my favorite and most inspirational artist. His form of art is what I am extremely passionate about, Motion Graphics. I believe that motion graphics incorporates almost every form of art and collaborates it into a moving image that anyone can view. Some say a picture is worth a thousand words, but can you image multiple images put together to create a video? I say it's worth so much more. Nick Campbell is a professional in this form of art and produces powerful stimulating images that inspires me a lot.
